Are you ready to become a Certified Yoga Therapist?
Ready to make a meaningful impact on health and wellness?
Certified IIYT yoga therapists deliver yoga therapy techniques that have been shown to help reverse negative effects of anxiety, stress, pain and fear to patients during diagnosis, treatment, adaptation and recovery.
Now in its tenth year, the International Institute of Yoga Therapy continues to lead the field of yoga therapy as a part of multidisciplinary approaches to patient centered care and research. IIYT is accredited by the IAYT and has partnerships with multiple hospital locations.
YOGA THERAPY
1. Yoga therapy is a part of the system of multi-module healing generally offered in clinical settings
2. Yoga therapy can help patients better manage harmful responses to stress, anxiety, and pain and can help you generate a sense of healing and comfort
3. Yoga therapy is not an alternative to traditional medical treatments but accompanies them in offering individualized tools that can self-actualize a meaningful quality of life such as adaptive breathing, meditation and, only when appropriate, physical movement
4. Yoga therapy can be offered in person or virtually to individuals or in groups. Yoga therapy is adaptive to most age groups, cultural heritages and traditions
THE INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF YOGA THERAPY
1. IIYT has been training yoga therapists for over 10 years and is a fully accredited certification program
2. IIYT yoga therapists receive over 1000 hours of training that adheres to an academically based model
3. IIYT is the first fully accredited program in Michigan and holds clinical as well as research affiliations with multiple hospital systems
4. IIYT is also the first IAYT fully accredited program in Michigan for Qualified Health Care Providers to include therapeutic yoga within the scope of their practice
5. In concord with health care professionals and researchers the IIYT yoga therapist offers a unique bridge between the two—body and mind– and encourages the patient to self-manage their sense of balance and health
